Patricia L. Dietle

Patricia L. Dietle, 94, of St. Thomas, PA, went to be with the Lord on February 15, 2026. She was born October 29, 1931, in Somerset County, the daughter of Elmer and Irene (Benning) Smith. 

Patricia worked for the Tuscarora school district as a Title I Reading Aid, and provided childcare for many years. She enjoyed traveling to Florida in the winter, gardening, puzzles, painting, crafts, flowers, camping, traveling all over the United States visiting National Parks with her family, and playing card games with her grandchildren and friends. She also enjoyed snuggles on the couch with her four-legged grand-pets. 

Patricia is survived by three daughters: Sandra (wife of Barry) Michaels, Debra (fiance Allen Eshleman) Martin, Kimberly (wife of Michael) Vuocolo; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin, a son, Craig, great-granddaughter, Alivia, son in-law Glenn I. Martin Jr. and siblings Harold Smith and Dale Smith. 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 7061 Lincoln Way W., St. Thomas, with Pastor Matthew Kayhart officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Patricia’s name may be made to St. Thomas Lutheran Church.
